Mellow Yellow

Yes it's still snowing..........as if you didn't know!!!!!!! I spent most of today trying to chase the cows out of one of my fields, the poor things are so hungry everytime I put feed out to the sheep they gallop down and crash through the fence!!!!!!! I eventually gave up and accepted I may have to adopt them too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The good thing about the weather being so bad means I get a bit more time to craft, so I set to making another card to enter into LCI challenge blog. The challenge this week involves choosing your favourite colour, in my case purple and picking the opposite colour on the colour wheel, in this case yellow, now I also like yellow but do not for some reason use it often, so I searched my stash and found some cs in both yellow and purple, they are opposites after all and decided to dust off my Cricut Expression. I bought this about 18months ago and very rarely use it. So choosing Accent Essentials I cut out 2 shaped circles and a border, popped them through the cuttlebug embossing as I go, stamped Nikki walking in the snow, added some gems, jingle bells and a sentiment and "Bobs your uncle!) Now I have never used yellow and purple as Christmas colours before but I really like it, what do you think.......It is nearly Christmas after all and I suppose anything goes..............................

You can't really see I have raised the circles from the stamped image, so another Christmas card done WOOHOO! only 80 more to go!!!!! Right that's me for today off to watch "I'm a celebrity" Hope you all keep safe in the snow Annette

Please NO MORE snow!!!!

What is this like!!!!!!!!!!!! I know the snow is lovely to look at but enough already!!!!!!!! it took me one and a half hours to get Eilidh to work today, can you imagine........ and it never ceases to amaze me how foolish people are when driving in the snow, one guy came up the hard shoulder to avoid the lines of traffic on the motorway!!!! another was so close to my back bumper I could see the colour of his eyes!!!!!!!! Pleas let it be sunny (well maybe that's too much to ask) tomorrow. Fortunately no mishaps this week but I did have a stonking time at Kerry's crop on Saturday, we made the cutest little calendar tin, Kerry has posted it on her blog so pop over and have a look, the girls were all in good fettle and we welcomed Sue who was lovely and seemed to have a great time. I have decided to enter another little creation into the blog challenge http://ladybugscraftsinkchallengeblog.blogspot.com/ and here it is

OK so the photo never does the real thing justice, the ps is Nitwit Bear Necessities and the colours are adorable, there is plaid which I have used, heart, stitched heart and love, they are all soft pinks, blues and browns, Mmmm! a must for your stash!! I stitched the co-ordinations onto a 7x7 card and distressed the edges to give a more aged look, a border of ribbon and two of Martha Stewart lace border, the image and sentiment I inked in brown and embossed with clear powder again to go with the aged look, the image is of course Robyn from Kerry all finished off with paper flowers and swarofski crystals

 Oooh so cute!!!!!

So that's it for today except Yaaaaaaay!! Wagner has gone and Awwwwwww!! so has Brit!!!!!
Have a great week Annette x

WOO HOO!!!!

Yes I won something, none other than the http://ladybugscraftsinkchallengeblog.blogspot.com/?zx=f3c403824520947e and I can't wait to pick my prize, it's so lovely to win something as special as this and I would like to thank.........................My good friend Kerry for the inspiration to be creative and also the ODD! tool or TWO! to make that possible........My good friend Hayley for providing an on-line helping hand to purchase the ODD! scrap of paper and maybe the ODD! ribbon or two to add the finishing touches to my creations (hold on till I get a Kleenex) and I can't forget my credit card company who make it all possible, Thank you, Thank you all, I am so overwhelmed............ Ye so anyway enough of all that, I am delighted and will continue to enter the challenges and enjoy the fun that brings. The girls on Kerry's design team are all very talented and it is a delight to check out all their blogs, finding out what each ones talents are and picking up ideas and techniques as I go along.
I haven't managed to do too much over the last couple of days as I have been so busy, I did do a card for my friends, daughters, teacher!!!!!!! OOH! My English teacher would be cringing at that mouthful.......so the card is my favouite eazel design and I used some papers I picked up in Wales, don't know what they are called, think I was in a frenzy when I was shopping!! stitching of course, I love stitching my cards, the teachers dog has just had puppies so I thought this stamp was rather appropriate (Penny Black) I popped some fun flock on Daddy Doggies hat and used a computer generated sentiment, Wow I am getting all crafty speeky!!!!! I think winning has definately gone to my head.....

So now I have set my self a challenge to try to finish my Christmas cards by the weekend (HO HO HO!) I hear you say and also to come up with something for the next LCI challenge. Have fun being creative and enjoy your week Annette x

Festive Madness!!

Is it just me or has everyone gone "Christmas Crazy!!" I popped out for some food shopping today only to find the shops were absolutely jumping with Christmas shoppers!? I haven't even bought ONE Christmas pressie. My daughter works in M&S and she said yesterday was manic with people buying for Christmas, I must be getting old, as I have absolutely no idea what anyone is getting this year............. and absolutely no inclination to start my crazy shopping................. Do I hear a resounding "Ba Humbug" sorry I may be injected with some Christmas spirit next week!!!!!! in the mean? time, LOL I have been extremely busy with the animals, winter has well and truely settled in, the weather the other day brought mini chaos to our humble abode, the winds were so strong they managed to blow my field shelter clean into the next field!!!!!!!!!!

This is a 15x15 feet shelter on metal skeeds!! can you imagine the force of the wind.

Fortunately none of the animals were injured, although I did have about fifty cows in my small paddock to investigate the sheep!! Billy (top sheep!) head butted them all back into their field, it was so funny watching him set to protecting the other two girls, well done Billy you saved me a head butting or two from those nosey parkers. I hope this is not a sign of the winter ahead of us.

So what about crafting? well...... I am still making some Christmas cards when I can find the time (HO HO) although that is in short supply, I have decided for the first time to enter Ladybug crafts Christmas Sparkle challenge http://ladybugscraftsinkchallengeblog.blogspot.com/?zx=f3c403824520947e My contribution is this card I have made for a special friend, I have decorated the inside also, can't show you it though cause someone may be peeking!!!!

I decide to go for some unusual colours to surprise this person,(always difficult to do) I love this Ruby Fairies stamp so I colourd her with prisma pencils and glittered her wings, I used Fluffy Stuff for the snow and added some paper flowers and leaves which I sprayed with Spray & Sparkle and added a sparkly brad, the adoreable border punch is from Martha Stewart, I decided to add some Swarovski crystals just to finish it off. Hope this friend likes it as I had lots of fun making it!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK I have to shoot off now to put the horses to bed and get my glad rags on, I am going out for dinner with my daughter tonight, HMM! Maybe it's on her..........this is her first wage and she is so excited, it will probably last all of 5 mins!!!!!
Have a great weekend, I have been informed by my son Adam, the "weekend starts on Friday Mum" so have a great weekend starting tomorrow, or tonight in my case!!!
