BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!

How cold is it today????? I have the heating on, thermals and a double layer of clothes and my fingers and toes are still froze.......Eilidh fortunately has the week of work so she can help out with the horses, although, because of the weather she missed a concert last night and her works Christmas lunch today, what a wee shame. We have spent the afternoon baking some cookies and her speciality (butterfly cakes) they are d'lish.................... I haven't made any cards today although I have posted the first Christmas card I ever made.

I made this to raise funds for "The Pony Club", I was so proud of it, at the time I thought this is magic, so therapeutic, very quickly my creative mind was in full swing and I came up with these.......

Terrible picture!!       I was hooked, I made 50 all together and everyone was delighted with them and the rest as they say is history.....LOL!

Now I know everyone has lovely snowy scenes to show at the moment, I just couldn't resist taking these this morning

Eilidh never knew her Grampa, (my Dad) she has always said every time she sees a Robin in the garden it is Grampa coming to visit, so you can imagine when she looked out today and saw Robin with a buddy, she told me, Gramps, (David's Dad) who passed away last year has come to visit also Awww! we both stood there cuddling and weeping, what a precious moment............... Enough of the mushy stuff, can anyone tell what the other little bird is, it is so beautiful, black and cream with a red crest and red under his tail feathers, he is about the size of a female thrush?????

So another snowy day over, I am off to help David to clear (once again) the snow from the driveway and hopefully I will get out tomorrow!!!!!! have a lovely warm evening Annette x

Gorgeous pics and lovely story behind the wee chooky birdies too. The weather is ridiculous! Took me 1.5hrs to get to Tradeston this morning, got home ok then got stuck right outside the house - took 3 people to push me out! The joys! x

Hi Annette, in answer to your question about the black, red and white bird, it's a greater spotted woodpecker! I think that one is male because it has red at the back of its head. They also have red under their tails/bottom and you can just see it in your photo! I love watching the birds, we get a lot of green woodpeckers and often see them flying about and landing in the field and clinging to the telephone poles.
Your collectoin of cards look gorgeous, I hope they raise lots of money!
